Seasonal allergies (allergic rhinitis) can be debilitating, with sneezing, itchy eyes, and nasal congestion disrupting daily life. In Ayurveda, allergies often reflect accumulated Ama (toxins) combined with a Kapha-Pitta imbalance. This remedy combines stinging nettle — one of the most evidence-based natural antihistamines — with the anti-inflammatory power of turmeric and the immune-modulating effects of local honey. Research suggests that nettle leaf may inhibit several inflammatory pathways involved in allergic rhinitis, while turmeric curcumin can modulate the immune response.

Ingredients

  • Hot Water1.5 cups
  • Black PepperPinch
  • Stinging Nettle Leaf (dried)2 tsp
  • Local Raw Honey1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder1/4 tsp

Dosage Guidance

Steep nettle leaf in hot water for 10—15 minutes. Strain and stir in turmeric, black pepper, and honey (once cooled below 40C). Drink 2—3 cups daily starting 4—6 weeks before allergy season for best results. Continue throughout the season.

Always consult an Ayurvedic practitioner or healthcare provider for personalized dosage recommendations.

Contraindications & Warnings
