Tulsi, or Holy Basil (Ocimum sanctum), is revered in Ayurveda as "The Queen of Herbs." This adaptogenic herb supports respiratory health, boosts immunity, and helps the body cope with stress. A daily cup of tulsi tea is one of the simplest and most effective wellness practices in the Indian tradition.

Ingredients

  • Fresh tulsi leaves8-10 piece

    Use Krishna (dark) or Rama (light) variety

  • Water2 cup
  • Fresh ginger0.5 tsp

    Grated

  • Raw honey1 tsp

    Add after cooling

  • Lemon juice0.5 tsp

    Optional — adds vitamin C

Preparation

Boil water, add tulsi leaves and grated ginger. Simmer on low for 5-7 minutes. Strain, cool slightly, then add honey and lemon. Drink warm, 1-2 times daily.

Dosage Guidance

1-2 cups daily. Can be consumed throughout the year. During cold and flu season, increase to 3 cups daily. Fresh leaves are preferred over dried for maximum potency.
